What makes a great employee varies greatly from position to position, employer to employer.  Yet I have observed one trait that seems to be valued in employees, no matter what the pay grade.  It is not about education, though education is needed.  It is not about the skills, though the skills are essential.  It is not about creativity, though employers definitely appreciate a creative thinker.

Ideal Employee Essentials... the Annie Qualities

I was in a particularly contemplative mood the other day and was just watching my three dogs play.  We have Lady, the matriarch of the group.  She is a 13-year-old, 85-pound black lab.  While her hips don't let her move like she once did, she still has the heart of a 4-year-old and will put in her best effort.  Then comes Taylor.  Taylor is a 3-year-old, yellow lab with the energy to match.  Taylor is a bit goofy, overzealous, and is like a big kid.  She sometimes gets so excited as to trip over her own feet.  Then comes Annie.  Annie is my 2-year old Pembroke corgi.  She is the smallest of the bunch, but don't tell her that. She is spunky, determined, and sometimes a bit hard-headed.
